CHANTILLY, VA, March 2025 – ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is thrilled to announce that John Lindsey, PE, is the recipient of the Lead GRIT Award for his work ethic, drive for continuous improvement and passion for elevating those around him. This award proves that great leaders do not just inspire – they innovate.
Reminiscing on his journey towards leadership excellence, John shared, “I lead by example while trying to be the best version of myself,” said John. “As someone who had previously worked with a concrete-products manufacturing firm, I leverage manufacturing process-improvement principles, such as Lean Six Sigma, at ECS to focus on customer needs, identify areas for improvement, prioritize tasks and to foster collaboration and continuous improvement within our Cincinnati team.”
John’s leadership role as Cincinnati’s office manager played a pivotal role in this office’s growth last year of more than 50% while maintaining great customer service – which is no easy feat. The work ethic instilled by his father not only carried him through putting himself through college and earning his degree but also contributes to his ability to lead his team in growing their capabilities within ECS and the industry. The Lead GRIT Award reinforces that success is built on everyday actions – the small, consistent efforts that lead to something bigger.
The GRIT Awards are an internal recognition program acknowledging individuals who have gone above and beyond and embody our core values of collaborate, focus and lead. Employees are encouraged to nominate their colleagues and peers and nominations are reviewed by a selection committee of ECS leadership and management. The winners were honored and celebrated at the annual ECS Managers’ Meeting.
