ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is pleased to announce that Mahmoud El-Gamal, PhD, PE, G.DE, has joined the firm as the new Subsidiary Regional Manager in the Midwest. Mahmoud brings 40 years of professional experience to his new role.
In his position, Mahmoud supports the growth of the subsidiary in Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota, aligning with the company’s broader business objectives. Leveraging his many years of experience, he provides leadership to young engineers to become future leaders and visionaries. He also focuses on strategic recruitment, business development, operational excellence, geographic expansion, targeted acquisitions and strategic operations.
Mahmoud also works closely with senior management to set goals and to report on progress, while coordinating effective cross-departmental initiatives. Additionally, he manages and mentors a team, equipping them with the skills, knowledge and resources needed for success.

Mahmoud El-Gamal holds a doctorate in civil engineering and a Master of Engineering in geotechnical earthquake engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Bachelor of Engineering in civil engineering from Mansoura University, and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Arab American Association of Engineers and Architects (AAAEA) and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
