ECS has been contracted to lead a $1.8 million FEMA-funded geotechnical assessment of eight landslide sites in the Garren Creek and Craigtown communities of Fairview, NC, following impacts from Hurricane Helene. Led by Director of Strategic Initiatives, Matt Fogleman, the project includes field reconnaissance, LiDAR mapping and engineering evaluations across eight slide sites to help Buncombe County understand site conditions and identify potential mitigation approaches. The assessment is expected to provide local officials with data and recommendations to support future planning efforts in the region.
