ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is pleased to announce that Christy Swaim Barker has joined the firm as a new Environmental Senior Project Manager in our Greensboro, NC, office.

Christy brings 32 years of experience to her role at ECS, offering a strong foundation in environmental consulting and sustainability. Her background spans environmental assessments, groundwater and renewable energy, along with building trusted client relationships and supporting business development efforts. With a collaborative mindset and a focus on continuous improvement, she contributes to solutions that strengthen partnerships and support long-term project success.

In her role, Christy leads environmental projects from planning through execution, supporting technical quality, budget alignment and timely delivery while managing multiple projects. She guides junior staff and works with clients and internal teams to develop proposals, review deliverables and support business development efforts.

“This opportunity means a great deal to me as it represents a chance to step back into consulting after many years in the chemical industry, where I’ve grown professionally,” Christy stated. “The consulting world is small, and reconnecting with people I started my career with has reinforced my interest in returning, making ECS an exciting next step where I can contribute to impactful environmental consulting work while continuing to grow.”

Christy also holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
