Derek Clyburn, PE currently serves as the President of ECS Southeast, LLC, a subsidiary of the ECS Group of Companies. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the ECS Group of Companies and has been with ECS for 25 years. Over the last 20 years, Derek has taken an active role in advocacy through ACEC, from grassroots participation to board membership.

Derek currently is serving as the Vice Chair of the ACEC Executive Committee 2023-2025. He most recently completed his year as National Director for ACEC/NC. Derek is currently on the Board of Governors for Engineering Companies for NC (ECNC), a non-profit advocacy organization formed by ACEC/NC and is an IRS 501(c) (4)an Independent Expenditure Account designed to educate and advocate for the engineering industry. He is also active in the Design Professionals Coalition (DPC) and participates in the Risk Management Committee for ACEC National. He previously served as President of ACEC/NC during their 50^th anniversary year in 2019-2020 and as a National Director in 2020-2021.

Derek earned his BSCE from Clemson University and MBA from University of Tennessee, so his blood runs orange.
