ECS Baton Rouge Adds New Geotechnical Principal

We are pleased to announce that Oliver-Denzil (Oliver) Taylor joined ECS as a geotechnical principal engineer in our Baton Rouge, LA, office. With more than 24 years of experience, Oliver has an extensive background in geotechnical consultations and other aspects of engineering.

As a principal manager, Oliver will be responsible for stimulating the growth of ECS’ geotechnical department by identifying new opportunities in the region, providing technical expertise and mentoring engineers, pushing ECS into new business areas and helping make ECS the leader in providing adaptive engineering solutions for clients.

When asked about the opportunity with ECS, Oliver said, “This is an exciting challenge to push the engineering profession, with ECS leading the way, beyond the ‘here and now’ into an evolvable discipline capable of predicting and solving future engineering challenges linked with a rapidly changing environment.”

Although born in Tzaneen, South Africa, Oliver has lived in the USA since he was 13, having moved here without family. He received his bachelor’s in civil engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and his master’s and doctorate in civil engineering from the University of Rhode Island. In his free time, you can find Oliver barbecuing, hiking or spending time with his wife and sons.
