ECS Adds to Cincinnati Office Team

Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is pleased to announce the addition of Halis Ider, PE, to the Cincinnati, Ohio office.  In the position of Principal Engineer – Senior Geotechnical Project Manager, Mr. Ider will led the Geotechnical Engineering group and join the leadership team of John Lindsey, PE, Vice President and Mark Carlson, PE, RPG, Chief Engineer of the Special Projects Group for ECS Midwest in Cincinnati Ohio. His focus will be to develop and expand the geotechnical service offerings within the Cincinnati – Northern Kentucky region and will act as Principal Geotechnical Consultant on large, technically challenging geotechnical projects for ECS as we continue to grow and build a presence in the Cincinnati market.

Halis brings his 35 plus years of incredible geotechnical experience in the local market to our Cincinnati Team. He has designed and managed numerous complex and challenging projects, with an emphasis on levee and infrastructure projects as well as geotechnical forensic investigations,” said Chris Lopez, PE, Senior Vice President, ECS Midwest LLC.

Mr. Ider has worked in the geotechnical consulting industry for 35 years. For the last 25 years, he served as Principal Engineer – Senior Geotechnical Engineer in the Greater Cincinnati – Northern Kentucky region. His expertise in the geotechnical field includes a broad array of engineering consulting services, with an impressive track record and exceptional hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering and design, specifications, budgeting, estimating and proposal and report preparations. His strong technical background covers all aspects of geotechnical engineering, with demonstrated ability to complete many high-profile projects with difficult subsurface conditions to remarkable levels of success. Projects included: Flood Protection Systems (Levees), Infrastructures and Site Rehabilitation Work Involving the Oil and Gas Industry, Public Works, Commercial Facilities, Sports/Recreational Facilities, Industrial Facilities, Government Complexes/Facilities, Residential Developments, Pipelines, Landslides, Forensic Evaluations and Construction Review Services.

Mr. Ider graduated from Istanbul Technical University in Istanbul, Turkey with a Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Engineering and a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, IL, and a PhD Candidate in Civil Engineering at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA. He is a registered Professional Engineer in eight states and the author of several technical papers.
