That must be exactly what ECS Geotechnical Manager Sara Beth Phillips and her group of colleagues from the Women’s Transportation Seminar Hampton Roads Chapter (WTS HRC) had in mind when they got together this month to make fleece blankets to donate to the Help and Emergency Shelter (H.E.R. Shelter). This very special place is a shelter for people that come from violent homes/abused families, or who are homeless, etc. The goal of the organization is to provide a stable, safe environment for those who are coping with these issues. http://hershelter.com/. What you get back when you volunteer is often so much more than what you give. “It was easy and a good team-building exercise at the same time,” said Sara Beth. Her colleagues agreed. “It was a lot of fun,” said Cindy Leydet.
