Engineering Consulting Services Appoints Principal Engineer

Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is pleased to announce that Gregory A. Ratkowski, PE, has been promoted to Principal Engineer. An ECS employee since 2006, Mr. Ratkowski began his tenure at ECS as a Geotechnical Project Manager. His excellent work in that arena led to promotion to Geotechnical Department Manager, and he was recently promoted to Assistant Office Manager for the Frederick, MD branch.

Mr. Ratkowski has been practicing geotechnical engineering and materials testing in Maryland for more than a decade. His experience includes geotechnical engineering for numerous public and private sector clients and projects for which he has managed and developed field investigation programs; including test boring and test pits, in-situ testing, engineering analysis and preparation of reports to provide geotechnical design information. Additionally, Mr. Ratkowski has experience with shallow and deep foundations, earthwork, sinkhole remediation, soil improvement, slope stability, embankment dams, residential projects, low- to high-rise structures, excavation support, sub-drainage systems, pavement design, and retaining wall systems.

Mr. Ratkowski is a registered Professional Engineer in Maryland. He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2005 from Union College in Schenectady, NY. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
