De Freitas Promoted to Geotechnical Department Manager

Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is pleased to announce that Veronica De Freitas, PE has been promoted to Geotechnical Department Manager for the Tampa, Florida office. A member of the ECS team since 2011, De Freitas has over eight years’ experience managing and executing a wide variety of subsurface exploration programs, including high-rise building, value engineering projects and ground improvement projects. De Freitas has extensive experience in analyses for deep and shallow foundations, pavements, retaining wall design, slope stability, and site seismic classification and analysis.

“We are extremely pleased Veronica De Freitas is taking the helm of the ECS Tampa Geotechnical Department as a Manager,” said David Bearce, PE, ECS Tampa Office Manager and Principal. “Veronica is ahead of her time with respect to her understanding of deep foundations and the impacts of value engineering to the Tampa Bay area projects. As the engine to an already advancing department, Veronica is simply stepping forward as a natural fit into the leadership position of which we anticipate tremendous strides in the coming months, years and beyond.”

A licensed Professional Engineer in Florida and Virginia, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.
