Nelson Promoted to Facilities Principal

Keith Nelson

ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC is pleased to announce that Keith Nelson, NCARB, AIA, CDT, ASHRAE BCxP, has been promoted to Principal with the firm. Mr. Nelson joined ECS in 2018 as an Architect in the Building Envelope Department, bringing 20 years of professional experience in technical and complex building enclosure design, failure investigations and building envelope commissioning (BECx).

Mr. Nelson has been instrumental in developing the ECS Building Envelope Commissioning Group and is well regarded in the industry as a technical leader in building envelope peer review/design assistance; construction services; functional performance evaluation and testing; post-occupancy evaluation; forensic investigation; litigation support; building performance codes and standards development; and hygrothermal analysis.

A Professional Architect in Virginia, Maryland, Georgia and Washington, DC, Mr. Nelson received his Bachelor of Architecture in 2002 and his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design Architecture in 2001 from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. He is a former leader of the Building Enclosure Council of DC (BEC|DC) and has served as a voting member of ASHRAE 90.1 ESC. He is active in ASTM E06.55 Building Performance and ASTM 06.41 Air Leakage. He coauthored Chapter 6, Building Enclosure Commissioning, of the BCxA’s Commissioning Handbook, 2nd edition and is currently a member of the Task Listing Group in development of the BECx Provider Certification for IIBEC (formerly RCI).
