Johnson Joins Chantilly Geotechnical Group

The ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is pleased to announce that Matthew Johnson has joined the firm as a Geotechnical Staff Project Manager in the Chantilly, VA, office. In this role, Mr. Johnson will be involved in engineering and management of geotechnical explorations, which consist of performing boring layouts, clearing utilities, supervising drilling operations, performing geophysical surveys, classifying soils, assigning lab testing and preparing geotechnical reports.

“We are excited to have Matthew Johnson on our Fairfax County Team in the Chantilly office,” said Lina Ayari, Construction Materials Department Manager. “Matthew’s prior field experience, enthusiasm, curiosity, motivation and eagerness to learn will make him a great member of our Chantilly family!”

Mr. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from James Madison University (JMU) in Harrisburg, VA.  He is a WACEL Level 1 Certified Concrete Technician and a WACEL Level 1 Certified Soils Technician. Prior to pursuing coursework at JMU, Mr. Johnson was a member of the United States Army 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, where he earned the U.S. Army Achievement Medal (March 2015) and U.S. Army Good Conduct Medal (February 2015).
