ECS Announces New Subsidiary President in Midwest

Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is pleased to announce Chris Lopez, PE has been promoted to Subsidiary President of ECS Midwest, LLC effective as of January 3, 2021.

Mr. Lopez succeeds Brett Gitskin, PE who will take on the role of Executive Vice President supporting Chris and the Midwest Management Team in technical and leadership mentoring, business development efforts, and expanding the Subsidiary National and Regional Accounts Program.

“Since Chris joined ECS two years ago, he has shown the drive, acumen, leadership and managerial skills critical to the continued growth of ECS Midwest,” says Mr. Gitskin. “Since opening our Chicago office in January 1999, we have grown to eight offices in three states. Under Chris’ leadership, we can look forward to continued growth and success in the Midwest as we continue to expand our footprint.”

Mr. Lopez brings more than 30 years of multidisciplinary engineering and consulting service experience across multiple markets to his new role. He most recently served as Chief Operating Officer for ECS Midwest, LLC. Mr. Lopez is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin and 11 additional states. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Design and Construction Management from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH.

A member of the ECS team since 1998, Mr. Gitskin has served in the role of Subsidiary President since 2004. He earned his Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Mr. Gitskin has extensive experience in geotechnical engineering particularly drilled shaft design and construction, shallow foundation design and construction, pavement design, construction and evaluation, concrete evaluation as well as forensic engineering, expert witness services and failure analysis.
