Our team shares who they’d invite to Thanksgiving

Turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and everyone gathered around the table. As we give thanks and celebrate the holidays this season, we asked our team: If you could invite one person from the past or present to be your special guest this year at Thanksgiving dinner, who would you pick? Here’s what they had to say.

Ready for Laughs

“Will Ferrell…because how could you not have fun at Thanksgiving with Will Ferrell at the table? I would ask him ‘Where do you get your inspiration? And, for fun, (courtesy of Harry Caray i.e. Will Ferrell on SNL) ‘If you were a hot dog, and you were starving, would you eat yourself?’”  -Nicole

Meeting Ancestors

“I would invite Edward Guardene Bailey, a relative of mine from Minnesota who fought in the Civil War. He was at the Battle of Shiloh in Tennessee. I am a history buff, and would love to talk with him about his experiences in the war and to find out what it was like from someone who lived through it.”  -Tom

Nostalgic

“My grandmother, because she’s not with us and we miss her.”  -Terry

Everything is Better Fried

“I would pick a Pilgrim and a member of the Wampanoag tribe that attended the feast in 1621. I would like to learn more about the food, the natural environment, and their first impressions of each other. For dinner I would serve a deep fried turkey and blow their minds!”  -Jason

As you sit around the Thanksgiving table this year, think about who you would want to share the meal with.

From our ECS Family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!
