Reading Time: 0 minute

Earth Day began in 1970 and has turned into a global event recognized by more than 190 countries. We can demonstrate how much we care about the future of our planet, whether you care for plants and animals, want to reduce waste or conserve energy. Let us know what you are doing to celebrate Earth Day this year. Here are a few ideas:

  • Take seeds to your child’s daycare/classroom for them to plant
  • Bring plants/flowers to a nursing home or hospital
  • Plant a tree
  • Carpool/bike/take public transportation
  • Take the stairs – save electricity by ditching the elevators
  • Bring a reusable water bottle
  • Eat food from local sources
  • Clean up litter in your community
  • Plant a vegetable garden
  • Sell or donate used items instead of throwing them away
  • Think green in the office
    • Determine your energy consumption
    • Use less paper
    • Change your windows to be more energy efficient
