ECS Employees Have GRIT: Meet Mike

Reading Time: 1 minute
Q: Who inspires you?

A: My inspiration is the people around me. I love feeding off their excitement and feel totally complete when I become an integral part of their operational success.

Q: Where’s your favorite place in the world?

A: I have many; typically, it is anywhere with the ones I love, surrounded by family and friends.

Q: What are you passionate about?

A: I am passionate about doing the right things, always speaking the truth and being genuine with everyone I interact with. I love tearing things apart and putting them back together. I’m a gearhead and a bit of an adrenaline junky. I am passionate about anything that is fast.

Q: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

A: Chasing after cars; I took a 36-hour road trip with my best buddy chasing after an antique Corvette. We travelled non-stop to Michigan and back with a 1970 Monte Carlo in tow. After several breakdowns, flat tires and questionable encounters with locals in the Appalachian mountains we made it to our drop off spot. We offloaded the car, loaded the new one and started our trip back to Florida. After it was all said and done, we had four flat tires, consumed several pounds of beef jerky, about 12 energy drinks and over a gallon of coffee. All of this topped off by having the great experience of brushing our teeth in what appeared to be the dirtiest bathroom in Middle America. It was the craziest and most fun I have ever had regardless of the challenges we encountered.

A: What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?

MS: My tasks are ever-evolving; not one day is the same as I travel constantly visiting offices that need my help. The coolest thing that I am working on is our people – my teams. They each have their own attributes and challenges. My blessing is being able to immerse myself into their situations and help them succeed.
