ECS is pleased to announce that Chuck Shaw, PE, has been promoted to group manager for our Aberdeen office, which took effect on April 12, 2023. Chuck rejoined ECS in 2022 and has served as a geotechnical associate principal.
Chuck faced many complicated projects throughout his 23 years in the industry. However, through hard work, outstanding leadership and a steadfast spirit, he yearned to learn more in areas he felt would strengthen himself and his team. He continues to study and learn from senior engineers and with their support, he has grown his industry knowledge.
In his new role as group manager, Chuck will manage the Aberdeen office while overseeing lab operations and projects, mentoring staff, performing technical report reviews and many other tasks, like leading, mentoring and interacting with geotechnical and construction materials engineers and project managers.
When asked about his promotion, Chuck said, “This new opportunity means so much to me. Building friendships with clients and forming open communication helped me a lot along my journey. I’m grateful I have the chance to continue to grow and continue evolving technically, as well as having the opportunity to mentor younger managers and engineers while continuing to oversee and grow the Aberdeen office and expand our area of work while helping ECS grow.”
Chuck has enjoyed being a geotechnical associate principal but is extremely excited about the opportunity to step into a new role and help grow our company footprint.
