Project Description

This project consisted of construction of a 5,000-sf, seven-story cast-in-place concrete structure with post tension slabs.  The hotel, the first Platinum LEED® certified green hotel in the U.S., includes guest rooms, banquet halls, meeting rooms, a full service restaurant, lobby area, and guest services areas.

ECS Involvement 

·         Performed comprehensive construction materials testing and observation services during mass grading, foundation construction, structural steel frame assembly, post-tension slab placement, concrete walls and slabs, pre-cast panel erection, utility installation, and pavement construction

·         Performed ASTM standard tests on soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt

·         Conducted LEED® IAQ testing in support of LEED® credit documentation

Project Highlight

·         The hotel used more than 70 sustainable practices during construction and serves as a model for green hotel construction.
