Description This project consisted of the construction of a 150-room
luxury hotel, distinguished as the first hotel to achieve the LEED® Gold
certification in ECS Involvement ·
Conducted
Phase I Environmental Site Assessments to evaluate environmental conditions and
a limited investigation of the dewatering system to evaluate options for
disposing of contaminated groundwater ·
Obtained
National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permitting and assisted with
the potential disposal of contaminated groundwater ·
Performed
a subsurface exploration and geotechnical analysis including soil test borings
in combination with SQ wireline rock coring ·
Participated
with the design team to integrate complex retention systems ·
Designed
the permanent sub-floor and wall drainage system, and qualified micropile and
caisson installation extending to depths as great as 30-ft below the rock
surface ·
Installed
micropiles to stabilize the existing subsurface as the excavation exceeded
60-ft in depth beside an existing parking deck Project
Highlight ·
This
project follows the guidelines of the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED® Green
Building Rating System", and includes a green/high reflective roof, water
efficient landscaping design, widespread use of recycled and regional content
as construction materials (low-emitting), bicycle storage spaces, water
reduction, and an extensive recycling program. |
