![]() Project Description This project consisted of the construction of a central
utility plant building, a technology building, a main office building, a
visitor's center, and a nine-level parking garage totaling 2.2M-sf on an 83-ac
site. The site required extensive
excavation and clearing to provide for building construction and included the
installation of 12 sediment ponds/traps, and other erosion and sediment
controls. This project is part of Base
Realignment and Closure (BRAC). ·
Provided
a representative environmental specialist for the quality control staff ·
Monitored
construction activities in contaminated areas for the presence of soil,
groundwater, and vapor phase contaminants ·
Conducted
required stormwater management inspections and delineated non-impacted wetlands
and waters in accordance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Virginia
Department of Environmental Quality permit requirements ·
Performed
particulate matter testing associated with sandblasting activities, bulk mold
testing and analyses related to new construction, and LEED® indoor air quality
services and final clearance testing ·
Performed
and documented erosion and sediment control inspections and items requiring
maintenance or additional controls in conformance with the Stormwater Pollution
Prevention Plan ·
Discussed
the results and further actions following each erosion and sediment control
inspection with the site superintendent |
