Project Description:

North Hills Hospital is completing a $31.7 million expansion, bringing to Northeast Tarrant County the first full-service cardiovascular center that provides cardiovascular operating rooms, intensive care beds and telemetry beds in the same unit.

Two new 16,000 square foot floors are being added to the existing main building to increase the number of private rooms and provide new labor and delivery suites.

In addition, the hospital's kitchen and dining room underwent major renovation and expanded by approximately 2,800 square feet on the northeast corner of the facility.  Maintenance and housekeeping were expanded, and approximately 213 parking spaces were added to the hospital's exterior.

ECS Involvement:

·         ECS performed moisture/density testing of building pads to determine compaction and moisture compliance.

·         ECS monitored drilled shaft piers to document drilling depth, reinforcing still, and concrete placement.

·         ECS tested fireproofing for bond strength, density, and thickness.

·         ECS inspected the structural steel for welds on stub columns floor decks, and bolted connections as well as performed ultrasonic testing on moment connections.
