Gallery Place, Washington, DC

Project Description:

Project Description:

Paired with its neighbor, the MCI Center, Gallery Place will dominate the downtown Washington area with the largest dining and entertainment powerhouse not seen anywhere else in the United States. The project encompasses over 1.5 million square feet of space including:

·         A state of the art AMC 21-plex theatre

·         225,000 square feet of dining, entertainment and retail space

·         Approximately 170 residential units

·         Five levels of structured parking

ECS Involvement:

·         ECS is providing consulting and quality assurance observations for below grade waterproofing including single-ply-membrane below foundation mat, with a drainage board and single-ply membrane at foundation walls.

·         Due to the nature of single-ply membrane, coordination with the various trades associated with the foundation construction (waterproofing, plumbing, reinforcing steel, concrete, etc.) is critical to ensuring that the waterproofing is properly protected and addressed at all interfaces with other materials as to not compromise long-term performance.

·         ECS is providing full testing and inspection services during construction to include soils, concrete, precast fabrication and erection, reinforcing steel, post-tensioning, structural steel fabrication and erection, caisson installation, waterproofing and roofing.
