Project Description:

Ballantyne Village is an upscale, unique, and pedestrian-friendly 500,000 square foot development in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, North Carolina. The retail phase of Ballantyne Village opened in the spring of 2005. Ballantyne Village comprises upscale retail and restaurants, luxury condominium homes, class A offices, plus an independent movie theater.

The project currently consists of a five-story above grade commercial tower surrounded by a multi level parking deck and retail space in south Charlotte. The core development will be flanked by two 22-story residential towers.

ECS Involvement:

·         ECS performed the subsurface exploration and geotechnical analysis for the proposed residential tower and multi-level parking deck. The results of our testing will save the owner hundreds of thousands in design and construction costs.

·         ECS is providing complete Special Inspections per NCBC Chapter 17 during construction of the superstructure. Structural Inspections include earthwork, drilled piers, structural steel, reinforced concrete and post tensioned slab floor slabs.
